Since 1958 Igualada has had a specialized leather university center and an international benchmark in the sector that has trained students from 42 countries.

Students of the Leather University have become experts in leather, and have developed professional careers in Quality, R&D, Purchase and Production departments of companies related to leather sector from all around the world, such as tanneries, chemicals and manufacturers of leather goods and accessories.

The new Campus of 6.000 square meters right by the A3 Leather Innovation Center building, allows to develop integral and very specific training in leather studies: Engineering Degree, a Master’s Degree in Leather Engineering  and a Postgraduate Course in Tanning Techniques.

The Leather University has an index of employment of 90% of students. It is an outstanding University in the world, as students undertake their higher studies in leather in a unique work environment: they can develop their professional capacity in permanent contact with all other protagonists related to leather which are part of the Cluster: tanning companies, treatment plant, the R&D A3 Leather Innovation Center, leather museums and other industries in the chain of value of the leather sector.
